"The Forth Industrial Revolution is still in its nascent state. But with the swift pace of change and disruption to business and society, the time to join in is now." Gary Coleman, Global and Senoir Client Advisor, Deloitte Consulting . Explaining the Forth Industrial Revolution to us at Pixan, It is about the near future of human civilisation. Its the intersection of digital and physical world. Today we are at a critical point where the world is moving fast towards new age and great emmerging technologies with the coming super computers, advanced processing powers which has given foundations to expand human capabilties. There has never been a time of greater promise, or greater peril.
To understand the Forth Industrial Revolution, we have to well define the past. According to industrial history, the first industrial revolution used water and steam to run manufacturing, the second revolution embraced electric power to revolutionalize manufacturing to create mass production. The current disruption of the thrird industrial revolution is based on electronics and information technology to automate production. It gave birth to smart technologies like smartphones, smarthomes, smart television and many more.
Today we are witnessing the coming of a new wave of development, which is building on the third industrial revolution. To us a Pixan its more than just the prologation of the third industrial revolution but rather the arrival of something new, some unique and a distinct one. The current revolution compared to the past is exponential rather than linear. Thats why is being felt in every part of the world. The possibilities of billions of people connected by mobile devices, with great processing power, storage capacity, and access to knowledge, are unlimited. These posibilities will be fueled by emerging technoligies like Artificial intelligence, robotics, the internet of things, autonomous vehicles, 3D printing, nanotechnology, biotechnology, material science, energy storage and quantum computing.
However in developing countries like Uganda, and most people leave under the poverty line and most are being left out in this rapid global revolution there by widening the digital divide. At Pixan, using our products and services, we hope to empower people and remove the barriers that limit as from accessing advanced technology. We are trully optimistic about the future of Uganda and call for all stakeholders from goverment, non goverment and most importantly to the private sector to embrace projects that inspires great innovation, a national competitive advantage for all.
